Siddartha - Hermann Hesse

Tags:

Finished reading "Siddartha" by Hermann Hesse. It seems to be translation from Sanskrit script. However it does give a lovely open hearted, blossoming experience while reading.

The last book that gave me this feeling was 'The monk who sold his ferrari'. Siddartha too is one of the motivating books, I feel. It opens up, or atleast for me, tries to clear the grime and dirt filled in our brains, flushing it with clean open thoughts.

Somehow it feels that the protagonist's thoughts of trying to find peace amidst endless thoughts is similar to mine. No wonder I liked it.

Lost Symbol

Tags:

Finished the super-fast paced book by Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol. Similar to The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, this book too is wrapped in a single day story line. Robert Langdon, the protagonist from the other above mentioned books as well deals with America's Masonic past and the present.

Rating: 4/5

Digital Fortress - Dan Brown

Dan Brown, not as exciting in this one as in the 'The Da Vinci Code', this book is about a Cryptographer and the NSA. The plot is just for 2 days, just as the 'The Da Vinci Code'.

I thought it was dry, may be I was expecting a lot..., even 'Angels and Demons' was better than this one.

Next - Michael Crichton

Really speaking, not what I'd expected of a Crichton novel. I'd expected a lot of science and drama to add. But this one was for the new American fading away in the battles of lawsuits, but the lawsuits over owning somebody's cells, chromosomes.

Only Love Is Real: A Story of Soulmates Reunited

All is love ... All is love. With love comes understanding. With understanding comes patience. And then time stops. And everything is now

Quite an amazing book, never knew that there exists a phenomenon such as soulmates. After a lot of thought, I think, I have atleast 2 soulmates, my mom and other friend of mine. Atleast, 'cause I don't know if I meet someone in my future, who could be a soulmate ;)

I've learn't a very important thing in this book,

Keep your mind open to things that you thought are never possible

This is an extremely useful in our lives, whether its programming, networks, algorithms, personal life, etc. You never know.

I was discussing this with a friend of mine, that unfortunately our mind can't see anything apart from what it knows or understands. What a pity for such a tremendous resource that we possess ! I want to understand the brain, may not be this lifetime but next ;) as a neurologist or something of that sort...

Many Lives, Many Masters

Tags:

Book reveals psychic communications between the Dr. Brian Weiss, his patient Catherine and the “Masters”. The Doc has lot to learn from the Masters.

Being a skeptic, atheist myself, I still do not understand why

  • Catherine only has “Earth” to manifest into... The book however states somewhere that Earth is not the only place. Why are there no other descriptions..?
  • Why does she have only “human” as physical form, why not Horses, animals?
  • If people know that they have another lifetime to improve on their deeds, would they improve in their current ones ?

There are many questions unanswered ...

On a lighter note...

There is time for everything. Probably next lifetime ;)

Angels and Demons

Another Robert Langdon epic through, the book is fast, just as the "The DaVinci Code" the whole book is about incidents covering not more than 3 days.

This time Mr. Langdon is in a fix with a beautiful Bio-physicist, who's father is killed by an ancient brotherhood of Science.

A man of science killed by the brotherhood of science, why?

Chromosome 6

Finished reading Chromosome 6 by Robin Cook, well honestly after Toxin I didn't really expect anything better from Mr. Cook, but he did come up with a wonderful story.

Dr. Jack, who does autopsies(dont' know if I spelled that one right) in Newyork city ends up in Western Africa trying to find out the source of a transplanted Liver.

While in Africa, Dr. Marshall with his two friends try to find out what had their tests, experiments resulted into.
